Fishing Lures
One of the new fads in today’s fishing world is the glow in the dark fishing lure. As fishermen try harder and harder to outsmart the fish each day, innovations like the glow in the dark fishing lure are becoming more commonplace. Not only does this give the fisherman an advantage that it otherwise wouldn’t have, but it allows that person to fish at times when it could not previously.
The glowing variety of lure comes mainly in spoon form, although companies are branching out in an attempt to reach more fishermen. Avid fishermen contend that these new lures are no good, but the younger generation has taken quite a liking to the new look. Glow in the dark fishing lures are made much like t-shirts used to be made in the mall. Companies are using an airbrush to paint bright colors and vivid designs onto them.
Becoming more popular, however, is the prevalence of people who are making their own glow in the dark fishing lures. It’s a fairly simple process. These fishermen buy their own spoons or jigs from a tackle shop, and then they head over to their local hardware store to pick up some paint. When those two mix, the glow in the dark lure is the outcome. As far as paint goes, the glow in the dark lure needs to be dipped in a dark color, and then it must be dipped into a color known as ultra green glow. This is the color that gives the lure its characteristic glow in the nighttime.
The more interesting side of the story is that people are actually using glow in the dark fishing lures to pull in fish at night. Night fishing has long been a favorite past time of fisherman as they extend to stretch the day. After all, most fishermen only get a few days out of the month to get out on the lake and pull in the big bass. With the glow in the dark lure, they can extend that time into the night and make their spouses even angrier.
In addition to painting their glow in the dark fishing lures, fishermen are now painting the ends of their rods. Since so much of fishing has to do with being able to view the end of the rod, fishermen realized that even the best night time lure would be useless if they could not see their rod tip. Those folks are beginning to use their own paint in order to create glow in the dark fishing rods to go along with their glowing fishing lures.
As fishermen try harder and harder to outsmart the fish, it looks like they will stop at nothing to achieve this. Overall, night fishing with the new glow in the dark fishing lures has been something of a success. Though the mainstream fishing world has yet to fully accept the concept, it’s something that looks to be right around the corner. Expect more innovations of this kind in the future as fishing lures become more advanced.
